Last week, I really got my ass kicked mentally-speaking. Sometimes life hits you a curve ball or two or three and suddenly you realize you’re only human and can only take so much.
Your mental health should always be your priority! I learned that the hard way by being there for others 24/7 and never put my own wellbeing on the top of my priority list. The truth is, life happens and some situations are harder to deal with than others.
Working out really helps me to not lose my mind and be able to process bad news a little bit better. Sweating is a cathartic experience in a way. For years, I struggled with consistency and finding my very own routine. Something that works for me even during the worst times. As much as I like the idea of going to the gym, it also feels intimidating to me and so far I didn’t find a gym I truly like here in Vienna.
So, I decided to sweat regularly at home for now and these are my favorites videos to train to. If you have 20 minutes on your hand, you really don’t have an excuse to not press play:
Yoga For complete beginners
I told you about the 30 Days of Yoga challenge earlier this month, and will tell you about my experience with it soon. Adriene created an amazing channel with videos for every situation. Now, let’s focus on this amazing video that introduces every newbie to yoga. You just need a mat! Easy as that!
The Love your body HIIT Workout
The Tone It Up Girls really delivered with this one below. It’s an amazing all-over body workout along the HIIT (High Intensity Training) method. I can also whole-heartedly recommend their other Cardio + HIIT videos, if you really want to make the most of those 20 minutes. You will definitly feel sore but proud afterwards!
Pilates for Beginners
Train like a beast, look like a beauty is the Blogilates tagline. So far, so good. I love the Total Body Stretch, that works amazingly well to destress and feels so nice after a long day sitting at work. I like the easy to follow videos and the POP Pilates mindset when I am in need for a little motivation, which is – who are we kidding here – always!
