When it comes to brunch, you know that my lil sis Stevie and I know our way around the city. We don’t call ourselves #BrunchQueensVienna for nothing. Lately though, there’s one joint we can’t get enough of for our monthly brunch dates. I’m talking about Motto am Fluss Café, right next to Schwedenplatz in Vienna.
The light-flooded area is always busy but not overcrowded, which is nice if you actually want to talk to your brunch date without overhearing your seat neighbors entire conversation. The food is always fresh and in season. They even have their own signature bread and homemade nutella and their dessert bar is droolworthy for sure (check out their raspberry tartelette, hint hint!).
Admittedly I am a coffee snob and not easy to please but I just love their soy latte and usually go for a second one, which I never do. Stevie is a huge fan of Teapigs tea which they also serve. Win win for both of us. The staff is very friendly, efficient and customer-oriented which is nice for a change. Earlier this month, a reservation at a different place failed to get through and only one short call later, they took us in very last minute. That’s been a first! I like the overall vibe, the laid-back music and the fact that my clothes don’t smell like restaurant afterwards which is so common eating out during the winter months. So, what’s not to like?!
Since my birthday is in late May, I like to take advantage of the gorgeous outside area and celebrate my day with a girls brunch for several years in a row so far. A tradition worth bringing back, if you ask me! Also, you might remember this photo above from way back when Nina visited and we went on our Austria roadtrip. Of course we had to have a brunch date at Motto am Fluss before she headed off to the airport that Saturday. Ah, memories…
