Yesterday was my birthday. My 34th to be exact. And this post was not supposed to come to your screen from Vienna but rather all the way from Iceland. What doesn’t make a huge difference to you, certainly makes one for me.
Ever since I came across that image above, I knew I wanted to explore the Icelandic Golden Coast. I was psyched to do so over my birthday right after moving apartments.
Naturally, the universe had other plans. It turned out that my thyroid doesn’t allow for me to board a plane right now. The whole moving process was postponed by another week. Yes, I am still sitting in a nearly empty place on this public holiday, waiting for the actual move to happen tomorrow. So, my actual birthday didn’t quite happen the way I initially planned it. But turning the ripe old age of 34 taught me that there’s no sense in fighting things that are not in my hands. It’s negative stress that won’t serve me in the long run. So, I just took a day off from anything that relates to moving. I cooked up my favorite garlicky pasta, watched TV, had a nap and Sachertorte for dinner and it was glorious!
Sometimes things don’t turn out the way we want them to, but at least we have the chance to evaluate the situation and reschedule plans. Here’s to all the Maybabies! Enjoy your day to the fullest and don’t feel bad if the party has to wait. It will be so worth it ♥
