My Daily Face | A Product Roundup

My Daily Face - A Product Roundup | Spunkyrella.com

This morning, while getting ready for work, I realized the way I apply my make-up is actually the same routine from Monday to Friday. Of course there’s a little switch here and there but all in all it stays quite the same.

So I thought, why not share a product roundup with you?! My daily face, if you will. Here are the products I always repurchase, the ones I grew to love and the few bits I am still missing. From one beauty-junkie to another, if you will…

Step One

I already told you about the minty-fresh Purifying Cleansing Gel, that works like an extra early morning wake-up call. That‘s my go-to morning cleanser and very first step every day. I am already on the last bit of my current holy grail of eye cream. I am always eager to try out new ones. Right now, it’s Estée Lauder’s Revitalizing Supreme Anti-Aging Eye Balm and it does everything it claims to do. Not too creamy, not too fragrant, sinks right in. Neat stuff!

To moisturize my face and add a little glow to it, as well as a nice dose of SPF 15, I use Origins’ VitaZing. I love the smell and the glow this beauty adds to my skin for years now. Also, it makes any foundation blend in easier. Since my weekend in Prague, I added a bit of bareMinerals’ Prime Time to my daily face. It’s a tinted neutralizer and primer I got to use a few times already. I haven’t decided yet, if I like it or not. I am not a fan of the smell but it does its job when it comes to balancing out an uneven skin tone on days.

Step Two

The bareMinerals BareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer (I use light) is another new product I am using. It blends right in without hiding away in any creases. I like to blend my make-up with my hands and fingers. In Prague, I discovered those tiny lime green Beauty Blenders. They are amazing to work with and team up perfectly with the concealer. Shaking the bareMinerals BareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation (I use 02 BareShell) is a task I always weirdly enjoy. It adds another SPF 20 and would come with a brush but, again, I like to warm it up in my hands and apply it with my fingers. Given the thorough prep already, it blends in quite smooth.

If I am going for full coverage or feel like a more matte finish would not hurt, I am always reaching for bareMinerals Matte Powder Foundation. Here, I’m using N10 fairly light during Winter and mix it with N20 medium beige in Summer when I am more tan. I currently apply this with a Sephora Kabuki Brush, which I am not too happy with. It’s a great brush but it’s eating up more powder than adding it to my face. So that’s what I am on the look-out for. Blush-wise I am still on the hunt for a great shade that’s not too pink or peachy and lasts all day. Any recommendations?

When it comes to bronzer though, I didn’t use one for a very long time since I was sick of all the glittery red-toned ones. Can you spot a theme here? Then I found the Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Waterproof Bronzer that comes in a warm brown shade without any added glitter. Yes! I had to have it. We’re still going strong a solid six months in. I don’t wanna jinx it, but this could be the one :)

Step Three

For eyes and brows, I am pretty easy-going.I use Benefit’s Gimme Brow in medium/deep and got this Retractable Brow Pencil from Sephora (in 05), which I do like thus far. I was never one for liquid eyeliners but I am using the Make-Up Forever Aqua Eyes Eye Khol in 25L for many years now. It won’t budge and the warm dark brown compliments my eye color much more than any black one ever could. I use Sephora’s Eyelash Curler as well as Urban Decay’s Subversion Lash Primer. I do like the formula but I am not crazy about the brush. My favorite drugstore brand mascara, Maybelline’s Lash Sensational is next up. It has a great thin brush for shorter lashes which is exactly what I need. Bulky brushes are my pet peeve.

Step Four

Last but not least, I snagged two Sephora Kiss Me Balms during my Sephora Prague haul. I am currently head over heels for Strawberry Fizz, which is such a lovely pink hue. Not too red, not too blue and it adds a nice dose of color to my lips. Such a fun shade for Spring! Well, and that’s it. It looks like quite a lot, I agree. All in all, it takes me around 15 to 20 minutes each morning and I am done and ready to go…
