Coffee and me, we go way back. And of course I am having some freshly brewed and cinnamon-topped goodness as we speak. Still, only few people know how amazing coffee-fueled goodies actually are for your beauty regimen as well!
I blame it on Instagram which lately has been my top source for coming across new products. You know me, I am ALWAYS up for a new face mask/hand cream/eye cream/anything really to try as long as it’s organic skincare. When FRANK BODY started to pop up everywhere, naturally I jumped all in.
And boy, it did not disappoint. The Original Body Scrub is my favorite and I treated my girls (as in friends, not boobs) to the coconut scrub and so far everyone was raving besides the mess the bathroom was in afterwards. But that’s a different story…
Fast forward to last month when the FRANK newsletter told me about this very new LIP DUO, a scrub and balm to be precise. Honestly, I never really grasped the concept of lip scrubs, amiright? I mean, scrubbing along for a few seconds with the electric tooth brush always did the trick for me, but as usual my curiousity won. With free shipping for his European babes, Frank won me over. Again.
The Lip Scrub
Let me tell you, I was wrong. Oh so wrong! There is a GOOD reason for lip scrubs after all and this beaut is of heavenly texture and has this coffee-caramel-vanilla smell to it, that for once, is not sickly sweet but earthy and endearing. Yes, I just want to bottle it right up and take it with me everywhere. So good!
I just need a teeny tiny bit of the sugary scrub and massage it gently into my lips. The scrub is not harsh or too grainy at all. It’s very fine and delicate almost. Afterwards I have to keep myself from licking it all off, even though I totally could!
The Lip Balm
All scrubbed and clean, it’s time for the lip balm. I actually thought this would have the same scent and would feel like wearing coffee brew in a way, but it’s much more subtle in its smell and super creamy and feels amazing slathered on.
Hardcore Frank devotees complained online for it’s lack of coffee fragrance but I must say – and remember, that’s coming from a true java junkie – that I totally get it! I am very sensitive to smell too and would actually not wear it a lot if it would be too fragrant. So really, Frank killed two birds with one stone here and came up with that amazingly moisturizing balm that really is for everyone, even non-coffee lovers… Though I don’t get you people, I mean really, who are you?!
